Stop and smell the flowers…really!

There are certain things or events in life that can really open up your eyes and make you see the world through different lenses. Life is full of hardship, stress, and various difficulties on a daily basis. It is as though everyone is running and running but few people stop to view the scenery. For me, it is those special little moments that can add a little light to a day where I feel like crawling into a black hole.

Relocation and Spandex pants.

A few people have questioned me and why I am leaving the area and going back to Oklahoma for a while. It sounds like such a simple question with a simple answer. In short, it’s to get back into school and to catch up with my family that I have been away from for nearly 7 years now. Those 2 things are the reason and I really should not have to give any further explanation, but I guess I’m feeling a bit generous today!

Just a blog..

I’ve been reading “Just a Geek” by Wil Wheaton. It’s been an interesting and fun read with lots of laugh and a bit of tear jerking moments. It’s not the greatest biography out there, but it’s one of those books that has made me think about my own life as I read it.

As a few of you may know I have a “thing” for David Anders, my Roman God on earth. So here is a bit of a plug for a film he is in called “The Revenant” that is coming out in 2009. There is not much information out there on it, but so far it looks like a pretty good zombie/vampire/whatever flick. The preview bits of it look pretty funny and entertaining. :)

Just call me Switzerland!

A recent spark of conflict around my life has inspired me to write this. A lot of things in my life I have experienced I prefer to keep private, but maybe this will cause someone to reconsider the way they view things.

I am a Libra, in that I am indecisive as hell. I hate it really. It’s hard to make decisions about anything. One of my favourite things about being in the military was the fact that I did not have to make certain choices. There were no worries about what my hair would look like during the day or what clothes I had to wear. Hair in bun? Check. Uniform starched and creased? Check! Those days were great! My point in saying this is that I am pretty neutral of a person in general because I can’t decide who I should dislike or hate. :P Indecision doesn’t just effect weekend activity choices. Sorry guys. Haha!

My story, which I will try to keep brief and short, starts when I arrived at Hanscom AFB in MA. I was so excited to be there. I had just seen my family for a week, and then got to spend time with a Norwegian friend in Boston. It was a well deserved and enjoyed break. I was picked up at my friends hotel room (actually it was “our” hotel room, but I’ll leave those details out) by two nice young Airmen from base.

Ahh BMT Memories!!

Posted: 22nd November 2008 by sevnof9 in Air Force, BMT, Bootcamp, Lackland AFB

Reading about my brother in law’s experience with undergoing a polygraph and personality tests, and how he had to face his past, brought back some flashes of AF BMT for me. :) It made me remember how shocked I was at having to be accountable for ever sound that came from my mouth..and every action I performed. Most people don’t give thought to their actions.. or how they respond with little comments like “uh-huh”. I never did either until it was pointed out to me. It sorta makes you realize what babbling idiots most of us are. I got dropped once because my TI asked me a question, and I was in a hurry and responded to his question with “yeah”. I paid for that one……

Gary England Drinking Game
By Canada and Moose

Pregame
1. Everyone selects a storm chaser other than Val Caster. Every time Gary talks to your storm chaser, you take one drink. Take two drinks every time we see footage from your storm chaser. Take four drinks if your storm chaser says “tornado on the ground.”

2. Everyone selects a county other than Pottawatomie County. Every time Gary mentions your county, you take one drink. Take two drinks every time we see footage from your county. Take four drinks if a tornado touches down in your county.

One drink
1. Take one drink every time Gary says the following:
“Hook echo” | “Updraft” | “Metro” | “Doppler radar” | “Wall cloud” | “Ranger 9″ | “Underground” | “Mobile home”

2. When Gary gives a list of counties, take one drink for every county in the list.

Here’s some lyrics from a fun Star Trek theme band to listen to.

SEVEN OF MINE
http://www.warp11.com/ra_lyrics_05.htm

Flesh and bone and silicone
You’re all by yourself, but you’re never alone
You’re pretty smooth, for a chick full of wires
So cold to the touch
But you set me on fire
Assimilate me
Dominate me
Short circuit my mind
Energize me
Your thighs always rise me
Let’s go out and make your gears grind
Seven of mine

The Road To Wellv … Letchworth.

Went to Letchworth State Park today. It was not exactly the trip I wanted, but one of the best days I’ve had here in NY.

I didn’t get much sleep last night. Was sick for the past several days so all I did was sleep. Then when I needed to sleep, I couldn’t. So I only got a few hours. And then I was woke up early by some drilling next door. So with a few hours of light to spare, I hit the road.

Me on a book

Well I cannot believe I did it. I read the entire Twilight series. I am not normally one to read.. I can count the number of books I have read on 2 hands.

My sister introduced me to the series. I sat down and started reading Twilight. It was a little interested, but nothing maddening. I put it away for several weeks. Later, when I was bored enough to even consider reading (a far stretch for me), I picked it up and then before long I was hooked!! Within  weeks I had gone out and purchased the rest of the series. It took me about 1.5 months to finish the whole lot.

The series was fun to read, in sort of a spying and vouyeristic type of way. There is love, comedy, horror and suspense all throughout it.
