Instead of me just sticking a seed or something up into his face, I keep it back about 5cm, this way he is given the choice to approach it and take it. Usually he does nothing but beg and turn circles trying to get back. But tonight he chewed and tore up a hairband and also nibbled on my face a bit. It made me feel so GREAT! I am glad he is gaining some trust in me :) :) As I type this he is staring at me. He has been staring at me a lot more today than he normally does. But he is saying this when he wants to come out of his cage when I come into the room. It's just a little baby talk, but I am sure that's what he is trying to say :) I do not know if this is something he had already learned from the breeder. She said she did not work on step ups much with him. He is doing good in his cage and is very comfortable with it. He has not slept in his happy hut in it. He was in the smaller travel cage, but not this new one. I may need to move it to a different location. He has that little child separation anxiety when I take him from his cage. He steps up well. But when I move away from the cage, he begs to go back to it and will try to jump as far as he can. It's toned down only slightly. I have not pushed him much with it. I've only taken him from his cage once or twice a day this week. Slow steps.... He and Neelix are doing well together!!! They eat from the same bowl as each other. Only once in a while will Nevz get bossy and chase Neelix from his cage. It seems to be later at night when Nevz wants to go to sleep.
